Abstract

Diplomsko delo se osredotoča na raziskovanje načrta optimizacije dobavne verige in proizvodnje baterijskih celic podjetja Tesla. Teoretični del zajema ustrezno literaturo o konceptu in managementu dobavne verige, o konceptih vertikalnih in horizontalnih mej podjetja ter o konceptih in načinih analize podjetja.

Secondary title: Business analysis and possibilities of optimising companies supply chain
Secondary abstract: The focus of this thesis is to investigate Tesla's plan for optimising the battery cell production processes and its supply chain. The theoretical part covers relevant literature on supply chain concepts and management, as well as those of vertical and horizontal boundaries of a company, and the concepts and methods of firm analysis. The applied part of the thesis focuses in the first part on the introduction and analysis of the company, as well as on the analysis of the current supply chain of battery cell production. The second part focuses on investigating the plan to optimise the supply chain of the company's battery cell production and the possible applications of their solution in other companies. The outcomes discovered in the thesis show that Tesla's vertical integration and supply chain optimisation of battery cell production can bring several benefits. The planned optimisation can reduce costs, improve the sustainability of the company, and contribute to the company's performance. However, this type of optimisation may not be suitable for all companies, as it requires significant investments in research and development and good business relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
