diplomsko delo
Abstract

Facial injuries and first aid |
Secondary abstract: |
Introduction: The face is one of the most exposed and poorly protected parts of the human body, and therefore facial injuries are very common. They are most often caused by traffic accidents, physical violence, falls, injuries at work, sports, etc. Facial injuries are divided into skeletal injuries, dental injuries, and injuries to the soft tissues of the face. These types of injuries are usually non-life-threatening, but if they do occur, immediate and correct first-aid is very important. We must be aware that every individual has a duty to provide first-aid to preserve life, prevent further injuries and ensure a better recovery. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma thesis is to present various facial injuries and first-aid measures for an injured person with facial injuries, with an emphasis on the correct first aid measures for an injured person with life-threatening conditions. Work methods: In the diploma thesis, we reviewed professional and scientific Slovenian and foreign literature. The literature research was conducted in various databases: Sciencedirect, Springer, PubMed, Medline, Europe PMC, CINAHL, COBISS and with the help of Google Scholar. The search for relevant literature took place in the period between November 2022 and March 2023. Results: We have explained the first-aid measures for various facial injuries and the importance of providing adequate first aid in life-threatening conditions of an injured person with facial injuries. Discussion and conclusion: With the appropriate first aid procedures, we can save the life of an injued person who has suffered facial injuries due to possible profuse bleeding and airway obstruction. Therefore, a quick and correct approach to providing first aid is crucial for survival, prevention of deterioration of the health condition, and better further recovery. |
