Abstract

Uporabnost: Izsledki diplomske naloge so uporabni v vsakodnevni fizioterapevtski praksi. Omejitve: Majhno število visokokakovostnih študij in majhni vzorci preiskovancev.

Secondary title: Prevention and treatment of pregnancy related diastasis recti by physiotherapeutic treatment
Secondary abstract: Introduction and purpose: Lateral epicondylitis (LE) is characterised by pain and/ or burning at the lateral epicondyle when the wrist is extended against resistance. The pain is mainly due to dynamic stabilisation of the wrist and repetitive loading of the tendon. Because of the high incidence of spontaneous healing, conservative treatment including physiotherapy, is the first choice of treatment. The aim of this thesis is to review the literature on the effectiveness of physiotherapy methods and techniques in the management of patients with LE. Methods: Systematic review of the literature, retrieved from PubMed, PEDro and Cochrane library electronic databases. Results: 38 studies were included in the analysis. The results show that there is no reliable evidence of the effectiveness of physiotherapy methods and techniques in the management of patients with LE. In chronic LE and the patients who do not respond to other conservative treatment techniques, extracorporeal shock wave therapy and PRP therapy are recommended. Usability: The findings of the thesis are useful in phsyiotherapy practice. Limitations: Low number of high-quality studies and small subject samples.
