Abstract

Izbrani so bili naključno.

Secondary title: PARENTS' BELIEF WHETHER A CHILD NEEDS A MOTHER AND A FATHER
Secondary abstract: There are families that consist of a father, a mother and a child, but there are also one-parent families, expanded families and homosexual families that consist of two fathers and a child or two mothers and a child. A child develops an affectionate relationship towards his father and/or mother, which is called attachment. An affectionate relationship between parents and a childs starts developing on the basis of child's inborn signals and parents' inborn reactions to the child's signals. On the basis of the relationship between parents and a child and regarding how a parent acts toward a child, a certain attachment pattern develops. Is it important that parents of both gender take care of and raise a child or is it possible for two mothers or two fathers to do so? Are there any differences in mother's or father's behaviour towards the child? The aim of this thesis was to establish the parents' beliefs about homosexual families and whether there are any differences in how a mother or a father behaves towards a child. The research included 146 parents of children ageing 3-6 years, from the kindergardens in Ptuj and Maribor area. They were randomly selected. The research was taken out with the help of a questionnaire that the educators helped me spread between the parents. On the one hand I have concluded that parents do not believe in homosexual partners adopting a child and on the other hand that a mother and a father only slightly differentiate in their behaviour towards a child.
