Secondary title: PARENTS OCCUPYING WITH SPORTS TOGETHER WITH CHILDREN IN THE PREKMURJE REGION
Secondary abstract: The theoretical part of this diploma thesis Practising sport, parents together with children, in Prekmurje presents the physical and motor development of a child, motor learning, motor skills and experiences and it also describes the important influence of the family and residential environment on the child's motor development. The empiric part presents the research which was done in the urban and rural part of Prekmurje. 285 parents took part in it. Considering the level of parents' education and the comparison between the urban and rural environment we researched above all the frequency of family sports activities, the reasons for their sports inactivity and the inclusion of children in organized forms of sports practice. The results of the research show that parents from the countryside do sports activities with their children more often than parents from towns; parents with a secondary school education do sports activities more often than parents with a higher education; the most frequent reason for family sports inactivity is the lack of time; children from towns visit organized forms of sports practice to a bigger extent than children from the countryside; parents of children who visit organized forms of practice are less frequent sports active together with their children than parents whose children do not visit organized forms of practice.
