Abstract

Metode: Literaturo smo sistematično pregledali in izvedli pregled literature. Uporabili smo opisno metodo dela, metodo kompilacije, analize in sinteze. Za iskanje znanstvene literature smo uporabili enotni iskalni niz. Literaturo smo iskali v mednarodnih elektronskih bazah: PubMed, CINHAL in Medline. Število zadetkov smo prikazali s pomočjo diagrama PRISMA. V sintezni tabeli smo prikazali identificirane raziskave. Izvedli smo tematsko analizo. Razprava in zaključek: V narejeni raziskavi o vplivu povečane uporabe digitalnih medijev na duševno zdravje mladostnikov v času pandemije covida-19 smo odkrili negativne vplive digitalnih medijev. Digitalni mediji so porušili pozitivno duševno zdravje mladostnikov v času pandemije covida-19. Tako so se pri mladostnikih pojavili simptomi depresije, tesnobe, strahu, stresa in motenj spanja.

Secondary title: The impact of increased digital media use on adolescents' mental health during the covid-19 pandemic
Secondary abstract: Introduction: Digital technology has taken over the world in recent years. The covid-19 pandemic in 2020 has also engulfed our world and become a major problem in various areas. It has brought various constraints (isolation, distancing) into people´s lives and individuals have therefore eased the bad times by increasing their use of digital media. Methods: We systematically reviewed the literature and conducted a literature review. We used a descriptive method also we used the method of compilation to review the literature and we did an analysis. We used international electronic databases: PubMed, CINHAL, and Medline to search for scientific literature. We used keywords in English and their synonyms to search the databases and linked them to Booleans operators. The number of hits was displayed using the PRISMA diagram. The analysis and synthesis of the identified research was presented in the form of a table. Results: Of the 748 identified hits found in the databases, 10 were suitable for our study. The results showed both the positive and negative effects of digital media use on adolescent mental health. But 80% of the research used in the study cites negative effects on adolescent mental health. Discussion and conclusion: In a study on the impact of increased digital media use on adolescents’ mental health we found negative effects of digital media. Digital media disrupted the positive mental health of adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic. This has led to symptoms of depression, anxiety, fear, stress, and sleep disturbances.
