Abstract

Secondary title: Optimization of process variables in rheological additive activation in 2K PUR coatings
Secondary abstract: In order to optimize the activation of the rheological additive in two-component polyurethane coatings, we initially determined the scale-up and scale-down criteria between production and laboratory scale. We found that the most reasonable parameter for this is the quality criteria via the flow test on a rheometer. Initially, we found that on a laboratory scale, by increasing the speed of the mixer during the activation of the additive, the total energy consumption during it decreases, since the activation time itself is thus shorter. We found a similar result on the production scale, where the maximum possible speed of the mixer is defined by the power of the mixer and the viscosity of the liquid.
