Abstract

V magistrskem delu predstavljamo video na zahtevo in digitalno video piratstvo ter množičnost uporabe enega in drugega. Proučujemo ekonomski pomen digitalnega piratstva v filmski in televizijski industriji. Z analizo študij in opravljene ankete raziskujemo morebitni upad uporabe piratskih spletnih strani za dostop do video vsebin zaradi razširjenosti legalnih storitev videa na zahtevo. Ugotavljamo, da je uporaba tovrstnih spletnih strani upadla, vendar pa določen delež anketirancev še vedno dostopa do video vsebin na teh straneh, predvsem v primerih, ko v katalogu storitve, na katero so naročeni, ne najdejo želene vsebine.

Secondary abstract: In the master's thesis, we present video on demand and digital video piracy and study their popularity. We examine the economic significance of digital piracy in the film and television industry. Through an analysis of studies and the conducted survey, we research the potential decline in the use of pirate websites to access video content due to the widespread availability of legal video on demand services. We find that the usage of such websites has decreased, but a certain percentage of respondents still access video content on these sites, especially when they cannot find the desired content in the catalog of the service to which they are subscribed.
