Secondary title: | Estimation of SGP4 orbital elements |
Secondary abstract: | With the estimation of the orbital elements of the SGP4 model, researchers aim to improve the accuracy of satellite position prediction. This is crucial for various fields, including communication links and mission planning. We have implemented and analyzed the process of determining the orbital elements of the SGP4 model using two different algorithms based on GPS data. The differential correction algorithm was implemented according to the scientific article [12] and its effectiveness was compared to the updated differential evolution algorithm called jDE which we implemented according to the scientific article [4] . We also compared the effectiveness of the algorithms with the officially released orbital elements in the SGP4 model for two real satellites which are CHAMP and SAC-C. |
