Abstract

Secondary abstract: Taras Kermauner was one of the most important Slovene literary theorists and philosophers of the second half of 20th Century. He first researched Slovene post-war avantgarde poetry, but later dedicated himself exclusively to Slovene dramatic texts. He wanted to establish a new form of university literary studies that would differ from the traditional (literary history and literary theory) by focusing on Otherness, because he was certain that identity thought was not appropriate to research into literary phenomena. Thus he elaborated his gigantic project Reconstruction and/or the reinterpretation of Slovene drama.
