Razvoj turizma v Mariboru

Abstract

V moji diplomski nalogi je prikazan razvoj turizma v mestu Maribor. Mesto se je skozi različna zgodovinska obdobja različno turistično razvijala, njeni začetki pa segajo v 19. stoletje. Skozi celotno obdobje se je turizem razvijal in povečeval, z izjemo nekaterih vmesnih obdobij. Z razvojem turizma in turističnega prometa se je povečalo tudi število infrastrukture namenjeno za turizem. Tudi danes je tema turizma precej aktualna, saj bo prihodnje leto mesto gostilo Evropsko prestolnico kulture, leta 2013 pa tudi Zimsko univerzijado. V prvem delu so prikazani naravno in družbeno geografski dejavniki mesta Maribor, kot razvojni dejavnik. Prikazan je tudi mestni, kulturni in športni turizem, ki v mestu dobiva vse večji pomen in privablja vse več gostov. Predstavljeni so razni objekti in infrastrukturne naprave, ki dajejo mestu dodaten pečat. V drugem delu je predstavljen zgodovinski turistični razvoj mesta Maribor. V posameznih obdobjih je podan turistični razvoj, v katerih so dodatno analizirani razni grafikoni in tabele, ki prikazujejo turistični promet v posameznem obdobju. Glavnino diplomskega dela predstavlja analiza turistične ponudbe in turističnega prometa po letu 1960. Analiza je podana na podlagi letnih statističnih podatkov za turizem, na podlagi katerih so bili izdelani grafikoni in tabele. Diplomsko delo sem zaključil s predstavitvijo Evropske prestolnice kulture in Zimske univerzijade, katero bo mesto Maribor gostilo v letih 2012 in 2013, ter njihov vpliv in pomen za nadaljnji razvoj turizma v Mariboru. V zaključnem delu je podana tudi S.W.O.T. analiza.

Secondary abstract:	In my diploma paper, tourism development in Maribor is presented. Maribor developed differently through different historical periods; however, its beginnings go back to the 19th century. Throughout the history, tourism was developing and spreading, except in certain periods. Along with tourism and tourist business development, infrastructure, meant for tourism, was increased. The topic of tourism is still up-to-date today, since Maribor is hosting European Capital of Culture next year and Winter Universiade in 2013. In the first part, natural and social-geographic factors of the town are described as the developmental factor. What is more, cultural, sports tourism and tourism of the town is presented, which is getting a bigger importance and is inviting more and more tourists. Moreover, different buildings and infrastructural services and facilities, which add special value to the town, are presented. In the second part, tourist development of Maribor through history is shown. In particular periods, tourist development is described, and there are different diagrams and tables analyzed, which show tourist business in a certain period. The most of the diploma paper focuses on the analysis of tourist offer and tourist business in the years after 1960. The analysis is presented on the basis of annual statistical data for tourism, which were the basis for the diagrams and tables. The diploma paper is concluded with the presentation of the European Capital of Culture and Winter Universiade, which Maribor is hosting in 2012 and 2013; and their influence on the future tourist development in Maribor. S.W.O.T. analysis is given in the last part.
