Abstract

Secondary abstract: In the diploma paper titled "The components of a modified traditional novel within selected novels of Prekmurje authors" I analyzed modern Slovene novels published after 1990. I selected authors that originate from the Pannonian part of Slovenia, Pannonia and Pomurje. The selection of primary works was based on the fact that all the works, with exception of one that was in the close selection of the nominees, were awarded with the highest and the most prestigious literary award in Slovenia, the Kresnik award. In my diploma paper I presented the importance of the award mentioned and its contribution to the development of the mentioned literary genres and I also introduced the authors of the selected novels up closely. I studied and analyzed the novels with the help of proper literature, based on the syncretism of genres and according to the definition of a modified traditional novel that was passed on by Alojzija Zupan Sosič in her works. I was also interested in how and to what extend specific environment, from which the authors originate and is portrayed in their works, influence the progress of the story in a novel and what are the features of the mentioned authors that are in common and can be emphasized.
