Abstract

Stres je danes nepogrešljiv del vsakdanjega življenja, saj smo vsakodnevno izpostavljeni številnim izzivom, težavam in pritiskom, tako v osebnem kot poklicnem življenju. Čeprav je stres naraven odziv telesa na različne dražljaje in situacije, lahko dolgotrajna izpostavljenost stresu vodi v številne negativne posledice, kot so izgorelost, težave s spanjem, tesnoba, depresija, oslabljena imunost ter celo bolezni srca in ožilja. Stres ima lahko tudi resne posledice na posameznikovo zdravje, počutje in kakovost življenja. Stres je prisoten pri vseh ljudeh ne glede na to, kakšno delo opravljajo. Vendar pa so nekatera delovna mesta bolj stresna kot druga. Ena izmed skupin zaposlenih, ki se srečuje s stresom na delovnem mestu, so zaporski delavci. Delo v zaporu prinaša s seboj posebne izzive, kot so varnostne zahteve, 24-urno dežurstvo, nasilje, izpostavljenost boleznim, nenavadne delovne ure in omejena interakcija z zunanjim svetom. Vse to lahko vodi do fizične in psihološke obremenitve pri zaporskih delavcih, kar lahko negativno vpliva na njihovo zdravje, dobro počutje in učinkovitost na delovnem mestu. Zato je pomembno, da se zavedamo vpliva stresa na naše življenje ter da se učimo učinkovitih strategij obvladovanja stresa, s katerimi lahko zmanjšamo tveganje za razvoj negativnih posledic stresa. Namen diplomskega dela je raziskati stresne obremenitve in njihove posledice na zaporske delavce, ki delajo v Zavodu za prestajanje kazni zapora Dob pri Mirni. V delu je opisan pojem stresa, različni dejavniki, ki vplivajo na nastanek stresa pri delu, ter posledice, kot so izgorelost, zmanjšana storilnost ter zdravstvene težave. V empiričnem delu diplomskega dela so predstavljeni rezultati raziskave, ki je bila izvedena med zaporskimi delavci z namenom ugotavljanja, kateri dejavniki stresa so najbolj prisotni v njihovem delovnem okolju ter kako se ti dejavniki odražajo na njihovem telesnem in duševnem zdravju.

Secondary abstract: Stress is an indispensable part of everyday life, as we are exposed to numerous challenges, problems and pressures on a daily basis, both in our personal and professional lives. Although stress is the body's natural response to different stimuli and situations, prolonged exposure to stress can lead to many negative cansequences, such as burnout, sleep problems, anxiety, depression, weakened immunity and even cardiovascular disease. Stress can also have serious cansequences for an individual's health, well-being and quality of life. Stress is present in all people, no matter what kind of work they do. However, some jobs are more stressful than others. One group of employees who experience stress at work are prison workers. Working in a prison comes with particular challenges, such as security requirements, 24-hour on-call duty, violence, exposure to disease, unusual working hours and limited interaction with the outside world. All this can lead to physical and psychological strain on prison workers, which can have a negative impact on their health, well-being and performance an work. Therefore, it is important to be aware of the impact of stress on our lives and to learn effective stress management strategies that can reduce the risk of developing negative consequences of stress. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the stress loads and their consequences on prison workers working in the Dob near Mirna Prison. The paper describes the concept of stress, the different factors that contribute to work-related stress and the consequences, such as burnout, reduced performance and health problems. The empirical part of the thesis presents the results of a survey conducted among prison workers to determine which stress factors are most present in their work environment and how these factors affect their physical and mental health.
