Abstract

There are plenty of themes regarding hydraulics and hydraulic devices, which aided in manipulating the flow of water and using water to manipulate other mechanics. There is a mention of the Hellenistic military revolution with the invention of the catapult and the repercussions of this invention on the level of military engineering. The winch and pulley are also given some focus as the basis of all lifting devices, which the Greeks used for building their temples and larger structures.
