Abstract

Okoljsko vzgojo lahko pojmujemo tudi kot vzgojo za lepše in boljše življenje. Naš način življenja bomo morali korenito spremeniti, če bomo želeli ohraniti naš planet za naslednje generacije, naša ravnanja bodo morala postati mnogo bolj premišljena, če bomo hoteli še naprej uživati v danostih, ki nam jih nudi narava. Poudarek diplomskega dela je na znanju anketiranih učencev o varovanju narave. V teoretičnem delu je predstavljeno stanje okolja v Sloveniji ter namen in pomen okoljske vzgoje v osnovni šoli. Predvsem smo želeli opozoriti na okoljsko vzgojo s stališča vzgoje za trajnostni razvoj. Podrobneje smo predstavili cilje in vsebine okoljske vzgoje v prvem in drugem triletju osnovne šole ter podrobneje analizirali učni načrt za predmeta spoznavanje okolja ter naravoslovje in tehnika. V empiričnem delu, kjer je bil uporabljen kvantitativni metodološki pristop, je predstavljena analiza raziskave med učenci OŠ Ormož (mestna šola) in OŠ Miklavž pri Ormožu (primestna šola), kjer smo preverjali znanje učencev tretjega, četrtega in petega razreda o varovanju narave ter ohranjanju narave v šoli in doma. Zanimalo nas je tudi, v kolikšni meri na njihovo znanje vplivajo spol, razred in lokacija šole, ki jo anketirani učenci obiskujejo. Rezultati kažejo, da so tako učenci OŠ Ormož kot učenci OŠ Miklavž pri Ormožu relativno dobro ekološko ozaveščeni, za kar gre v veliki meri zahvala staršem in šoli.

Secondary abstract: Environmental education can also be seen as the education for brighter and better life. The way of life we live nowadays will have to change enormously in order to preserve the planet for the future generations. We will have to act considerately if we still want to enjoy what the Nature provides for us. The aim of thesis has been to find out how much the pupils know about the nature protection. Theoretical part presents the state the environment is Slovenia in and the importance of environmental education in primary schools. The aim was to draw attention to environmental education in terms of education for sustainable development. The aims and the topics of environmental education in the first and second triennium of primary school are presented. The curriculum of the school subjects Spoznavanje okolja and Naravoslovje in tehnika have been analysed in detail. Quantitative methodological approach has been used in the empirical part of the thesis. The results of the poll carried out among the pupils attending primary school in Ormož (school in an urban area) and pupils attending primary school in Miklavž pri Omrožu (school in a suburban area) are presented. We have been interested in the pupils' knowledge about protecting the nature both in school and at home. The poll was carried out among pupils in the third, fourth and fifth grade. We were also interested if there is a significant difference according to gender, grade and the location of school. The results have shown that pupils in both schools have considerable knowledge about ecology, which is the consequence of home upbringing and school education.
