Abstract

Secondary title: Income and wealth inequality in the countries of the former Yugoslavia
Secondary abstract: Economic inequality is a complex problem that occurs on a global scale. It is a phenomenon that manifests itself at different levels of society and affects economic development and social cohesion in countries. In our thesis, we analyzed and presented the economic situation and various indicators of income and wealth inequality in Slovenia, Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Croatia. We found that the observed countries differ from each other in terms of the level of development and economic characteristics, which also affects the level of income and wealth in these countries. Using the EViews program, we then estimated income inequality functions for Slovenia, Serbia, North Macedonia and Croatia. We then analyzed the estimated functions and checked the adequacy of their specification and the validity of the assumptions of the least squares method.
