Abstract

Namen diplomskega dela je raziskati pojme ilustracija, tipografija in barve ter predstaviti, kako ti dejavniki vplivajo na morebitnega kupca knjige. Vsaka poteza, oblika, črka in barva v človeku, tako zavestno kot podzavestno, vzbuja čustvene odzive, ki narekujejo, kako se bo posameznik nanje odzval. Med analizo teorije smo tako odkrili, kako se posameznik odziva na predstavljene atribute. Diplomsko delo se dotika različnih žanrov in načinov uporabe ilustracije, tipografskih slogov, slogovnih elementov, barvnega simbolizma in pozitivnih ter negativnih asociacij barv na človeka. Vsak od teh dejavnikov je podrobneje predstavljen na primeru knjižnih naslovnic otroških knjig. Pri praktičnem delu diplomskega dela smo analizirali že ustvarjeno knjižno naslovnico in z doslej pridobljenim znanjem kreirali novo knjižno naslovnico izbrane knjige.

Secondary title: Designing a children's book cover
Secondary abstract: The aim of the thesis is to investigate the concepts of illustration, typography and colors and to present the influence these factors have on a potential buyer. Every gesture, shape, letter and color in a person, both consciously and subconsciously, evokes emotional responses that dictate how the individual will react to them. Through the analysis of the theory, we discovered how the individual reacts to certain attributes that are presented to them. The diploma touches on different genres and ways of using illustration, typographic styles and stylistic elements, as well as color symbolism and positive and negative associations of colors to people. Each of these factors is presented in more detail on the example of book covers of children's books. The acquired knowledge was then used in practical work in the analysis of an already created book cover and in the re-implementation of the analyzed book cover.
