Abstract

Secondary title: Analysis of the longitudinal dynamic stability of an aeroplane
Secondary abstract: In our thesis, we conducted an analysis of the longitudinal dynamic stability of the tested aircraft. Using derived equations and assumed values for speed and altitude, we carried out a preliminary analysis, during which we calculated the dynamic parameters of the aircraft for five different configurations. We executed nine test flights, during which we examined both the long and short periodic oscillations of the aircraft. From the measured velocity and angle of attack curves, we determined the dynamic parameters of the aircraft after the flights. The results of the test flights showed that the aircraft is dynamically stable for both types of motion in the longitudinal direction. We made a comparison between the results of the preliminary analysis and the flight test results. During this process, we have found that the results differ significantly from each other. In the case of short period oscillation, we observed a larger deviation compared to the long period oscillation. The main reasons for the deviation in the results were the human factor in imprecise excitation of the oscillation and insufficient repeatability of the test points for each configuration. Despite these discrepancies, we can assert that the airplane is dynamically stable in the longitudinal direction.
