Abstract

Secondary title: Ensuring corporate security in health institutions and strategic communication
Secondary abstract: Ensuring corporate security is an essential and critical component of any healthcare facility to provide safe services to its patients and employees. Healthcare institutions must employ various strategies to ensure corporate security, which at the same time includes developing a strategic communication plan that defines the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders. The aim of the master thesis is to present the concept of corporate security in the Slovenian healthcare system and to define its status. To obtain the results, a survey was conducted, which was forwarded to healthcare institutions in Slovenia, in which 154 healthcare stakeholders participated. The results showed that corporate security in Slovenian healthcare institutions is present, but additional efforts are needed to improve it, especially given the current challenges related to measures following the COVID-19 epidemic, the lack of medical staff, and cyber threats. Corporate security legal procedures in healthcare facilities comply with applicable laws and regulations to protect the interests of their patients and employees, and operational security processes are currently primarily provided by internal providers. The legal processes of corporate security are poorly known among employees, but at the same time, the latter highly value the importance of corporate security within healthcare institutions. In the future, it is necessary to improve the training and education of personnel, who play the most important role in ensuring safety. For the effective establishment of comprehensive corporate security, strategic communication with all stakeholders is essential to ensure the correct implementation of their security policies and procedures - ensuring corporate security in healthcare institutions is indeed a complex challenge that requires a comprehensive and systematic approach.
