Abstract

S podaljšanjem življenjske dobe se je povečala tudi pojavnost kroničnih nenalezljivih bolezni, med katerimi izstopajo predvsem srčno-žilne bolezni. Številne zdravstvene težave, ki pestijo starejšo populacijo kot posledice srčno-žilnih bolezni, bi bilo možno z zdravim načinom življenja in zdravo uravnoteženo prehrano preprečiti ali vsaj omiliti. Namen zaključnega dela je raziskati vpliv prehrane na srčno-žilna obolenja pri starejši populaciji.

Secondary abstract: As life expectancy has increased, so has the incidence of chronic non-communicable diseases, particularly cardiovascular diseases. Many health problems afflicting the older population due to cardiovascular disease could be prevented or alleviated through a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet. This thesis aims to investigate the impact of diet on cardiovascular disease in the older population.
