Abstract

S to metodo lahko že pred izpadom določimo šibke točke omrežja in jih pravočasno odpravimo.

Secondary title: Determining the location of faults on medium voltage cable lines by partial discharge measurement
Secondary abstract: The thesis focuses on the localization of faults in 20 kV underground cables using partial discharge measurements. The electrical grid is the largest system constructed by humans, and its maintenance is of paramount importance for its functioning. Through diagnostics, we can prevent issues that arise from power outages. One of the methods for detecting faults in medium-voltage networks is through partial discharge diagnostics. With this method, we can identify weak points in the network before an outage occurs and address them in a timely manner. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the analysis of the medium-voltage network in Gorenjska region, the construction of 20 kV XLPE cables, and partial discharges. The emphasis is on the insulation degradation process due to the mentioned faults. In the practical part, I present the diagnostic equipment necessary for measuring partial discharges, which is also used by the company Elektro Gorenjska, and how we interpret the results after conducting measurements. The emphasis is also on determining the microlocation of partial discharges to avoid unnecessary work and costs caused by incorrect excavation locations. Finally, field examples are presented.
