Abstract

Secondary title: Elimination of interferences in the transmission of electric meter readings via the electric network
Secondary abstract: This work addresses the issues related to disturbances in the transmission of readings from electric meters through the electrical network, as well as the possibilities for their mitigation. The electrical network, serving as a communication conduit for data transmission from electric meters, offers several advantages, including simple infrastructure and the potential for remote readings. The implementation of such a communication system is challenged by interferences stemming from the operation of other coexisting electrical devices. The paper describes the reasons behind these interferences and their impact on the physical communication layer, which consequently needs to be sufficiently robust. In this context, interferences pose a challenge as they result in data loss, reduced transmission speed, or complete communication breakdown. The study presents approaches to addressing these interference issues, among which the use of network filters stands out. These filters effectively reduce the impact of interferences and enable reliable communication between electric meters and the data center.
