| Secondary title: | Structuralism between Linguistics and Philosophy: The Concept of Symbolic |
| Secondary abstract: | Structural linguistics has had a great impact on the evolvement of philosophy in the beginning of the 20th century. An important reversal happened when a revolutionary work of Ferdinand de Saussure has been published. His Lectures on General Linguistics have since been comprehended as a base of a new structuralistic thought. The main concept of this paradigm is the symbolic structure that postulates the establishment of a symbolic order. Structuralism represents a field that inherently connects linguistics with philosophy and vice versa. It also extends to other intellectual spheres. Structuralism has also influenced the Slovene linguistics as well as other sciences and it remains an important conceptual frame of current anthropological theories – sometimes as a base and other times through critique. |
