Abstract

Uvod: Zaradi covida-19 so bili številni pacienti sprejeti v enoto intenzivne terapije. Na podlagi pregleda literature smo želeli raziskati, kateri so najpogostejši dejavniki tveganja za sprejem v enoto intenzivne terapije in umrljivost pri pacientih s covidom-19. Metode: Izvedli smo pregled, analizo in sintezo literature. Literaturo smo iskali v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, MEDLINE (EBSCO), CINAHL (Ultimate), Cochrane Library in Web of Science. S pomočjo PRISMA diagrama smo prikazali potek pregleda. Raziskave smo prikazali s pomočjo evalvacijske tabele in jih kritično ocenili z ocenjevalnim orodjem Joanna Briggs Institute. Izvedli smo vsebinsko analizo. Rezultati: V končno analizo smo vključili 12 člankov. Ocenili smo enajst kohortnih raziskav in en sistematični pregled kohortnih raziskav.

Secondary title: Risk factors for intensive care unit admission and mortality in patients with covid-19
Secondary abstract: Introduction: Due to covid-19, many patients were admitted to single intensive therapies. Based on a review of the literature, we wanted to investigate which are the most common risk factors for admission to intensive therapy and mortality in patients with covid-19. Methodology: We performed a literature review, analysis and synthesis. Databases PubMed, MEDLINE (EBSCO), CINAHL (Ultimate), Cochrane Library and Web of Science were searched. We included fully accessible systematic reviews of cohort studies or case-control studies, individual cohort studies or case-control studies, and descriptive studies in the English language. The selected articles included the adult population. We have limited ourselves from 2019 onwards. With the help of the PRISMA diagram, we showed the course of review. We presented results in an evaluation table and critically evaluated articles using Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisal tools. We performed a content analysis. Results: We included 12 articles in the final analysis. We evaluated eleven cohort studies and one systematic review of cohort studies. Through content analysis, we created the main category: "Risk factors for admission to the intensive care unit and mortality in patients with covid-19" and 4 subcategories: "non-modifiable risk factors", "modifiable risk factors", "associated diseases" and " responses and complications". Discussion and conclusion: Various risk factors and comorbidity, such as male sex, older age, increased body weight, the presence of hypertension, diabetes, smoking, kidney diseases and individual complications influence more frequent admission to the intensive care unit and mortality in patients with covid-19.
