magistrsko delo
Abstract
4) Pred obsojenci vedno podprem sodelavce.

Relations between the prison staff in Slovenian prisons |
Secondary abstract: |
In the master's thesis, we discuss the relations between employees in Slovenian prisons. In the introductory part of the master's thesis, we performed a literature review and asked research questions about how prisons assess relationships between employees in prison institutions, their own qualifications for work and the need for additional training. In the research work based on the secondary analysis of data from the study (Hacin et al., 2022), we used factor analysis, discriminant analysis and t-test for independent samples. The findings show that statistically significant differences between judicial police officers and professional workers can be seen only in eleven of the forty-eight analysed statements. For judicial officers, the values are higher for the following statements 1) Most of the convicts I deal with think that the employees of the institution treat them fairly 2) Most of the convicts I deal with think that the employees of the institution always follow the law. 3) I always support a colleague when he is in a dispute with a convict. 4) I always support my colleagues before convicts. 5) I always support a colleague when he imposes a sanction on a convicted person (even if I disagree with the sanction). 6) I think that judicial officers quickly come to the aid of a colleague if he needs it. Regarding training needs for better work performance, we note that the assessments of own competence are high. However, prison workers want more training to improve communication skills, physical fitness for work, psychology, foreign languages and many other skills. In the final part of the master's thesis, we discuss the significance of the results compared to other studies and the relevance of the research for practice. |
