Abstract

Secondary title: CHILDREN'S MOTOR SKILLS COMPARISON IN URBAN AND RURAL AREAS
Secondary abstract: The diploma paper Comparison of children's motor skills in urban and rural areas consists of two parts: theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part we presented a child's motor development, the development of children's motor skills, motor skills of five- and six-year-olds, and the possibilities for sports activities in urban as well as in rural areas. In the empirical part we searched for differences in motor skills on an un-coincidental pattern of concrete population, namely five to six years old children from urban and rural areas, with the help of casually-unexperimental method. We collected the information about the state of motor skills with the help of quantitative technique with twelve motor tests. 80 children from urban areas took part in this testing (43 girls and 37 boys), as well as 69 children from rural areas (28 girls and 41 boys). With the help of quantitative statistic processing of the acquired results we discovered, that the children from urban areas have better motor skills than those from rural areas. At the same time, boys' motor skills are better than girls' in urban as well as in rural areas. The girls from urban areas have better motor skills than girls in rural areas and the boys from urban areas have better motor skills than those from rural areas.
