Abstract

Secondary language: English
Secondary title: Between a Phrase and a Compound: usage in Slovenian and Russian
Secondary abstract: The master's thesis encompasses a comparative analysis of newer nominal phrases and nominal compounds with an interfix formed from two nouns in Slovenian and Russian. The research subject primarily focuses on the theoretical treatment and linguistic systematization of concepts in each language, highlighting the issue of spelling together/with a hyphen/apart, and examining it in orthographic manuals. The main emphasis is on the corpus-based comparison of current usage in standard Slovenian and Russian. The multilevel comparison allows for a better understanding of the differences and similarities between these two languages.
