| Secondary abstract: | The paper focuses on the teaching of grammar, which has in the last few decades played an important role in the mother-tongue curricula of Slovene schools. The author calls for less grammar teaching and language theory in general, and recommends that teachers play a decisive role in the planning of first-language teaching. He argues for a more practical approach, justifying this with historical arguments and teachersć first-hand experience. |
