Abstract

V magistrski nalogi je predstavljena in analizirana skladba Nocturnal after John Dowland op. 70, ki ga je napisal Benjamin Britten za kitarista Juliana Breama. V nalogi smo opisali njuno življenje in nastanek dela. Predstavljen je odnos med skladateljem in kitaristom, ki je bil bistven za nastanek dela. Analiza obravnava glasbeno obliko, zgradbo, interpretacijo in tehnične značilnosti posameznih variacij. Analizirana je tudi uporaba Dowlandovih motivov in njihovo preoblikovanje v posameznih variacijah.

Secondary abstract: The master’s thesis presents and analyses Nocturnal after John Dowland op. 70 written by Benjamin Britten for the guitarist Julian Bream. It deals with their lives and the creation of the work itself. It presents the relationship between the composer and the guitarist, which was essential for the creation of the work. The analysis deals with the musical form, structure, interpretation and technical characteristics of individual variations. It also analyses the use of Dowlands motifs and their transformation in individual variations.
