Abstract

Secondary title: Setting up a wireless network for a medium-sized organization
Secondary abstract: The diploma thesis comprehensively describes and presents the structure and functioning of a wireless network in a business environment. The introductory section provides an overview of the fundamental components of the network and offers a comprehensive description of the different iterations of the 802.11 standard, ranging from its initial introduction to the latest versions currently in use. Subsequently, the thesis illustrates the complete network structure using a specific case study, outlining the transition from the point where the network provided by the internet service provider concludes to the initiation of the private (user) segment of the network, extending all the way to the end user. The final segment of the thesis presents an indepth analysis of the network's structure and operation, utilizing a practical example that simulates a real-world setting for business users. The primary objective is to establish an environment that effectively segregates regular users from those with elevated access privileges, while simultaneously ensuring flawless redundancy and uninterrupted functionality, irrespective of potential unforeseen circumstances, such as connection disruptions or hardware malfunctions.
