Abstract

Secondary title: The impact of new technologies on older employees
Secondary abstract: We are living in an era marked by rapid advancements in new technologies. The population is aging, and there is an increasing proportion of older individuals who are still active in the workforce. The development of new technologies can either pose challenges or offer new opportunities for these older employees. This master's thesis examines the impact of new technologies on older workers. A fundamental objective of the research was to determine how new technology in the workplace affects older employees and how they perceive training and education in the field of new technology usage. In this work, various methods were employed to ascertain the extent to which older employees are confronted with the use of new technologies, the degree to which they participate in educational programs based on their level of education, whether there is a gender difference in participation in training and education related to new technology usage, and whether older employees believe they could more easily and effectively adapt to the impact of new technologies if employers adjusted work processes. We have found that new technologies have a positive impact on older employees and that these employees possess sufficient skills and knowledge for their use. New technologies do not pose problems or stress for older workers. In terms of participation in training and education in new technologies, we observe no differences based on gender. Older employees feel a gap in the adaptation of work processes by employers.
