Abstract

Secondary title: Analysis of photovoltaic power plant with battery energy storage system for supplying self-consumption of substation Podlog
Secondary abstract: The diploma thesis presents an analysis of the feasibility of connecting a solar power plant for self-consumption in the RTP Podlog-a administrative building. This analysis is deemed meaningful due to the existence of underutilized rooftops in facilities such as RTPs, which can be effectively utilized for electricity generation. The thesis begins by introducing the company ELES and the RTP Podlog substation. It provides a detailed explanation of the operation and schemes for self-consumption, along with the determination of the optimal size and power capacity of the solar power plant. The study includes an analysis of photovoltaic technology, the composition of a solar power plant, and an examination of Slovenian legislation in this context. Furthermore, considering the increasing usage of electric vehicles in today's era, the thesis also anticipates the implementation of electric charging stations within the company premises, briefly outlining their functionality. Additionally, the thesis explores the potential utilization of battery energy storage systems, which are already present within the company. To support the research, calculations, drawings, and analyses were conducted using tools such as SolarEdge Designer and AutoCad. The findings and results pertaining to the selected solar power plant are comprehensively presented in the diploma thesis.
