Abstract

V diplomski nalogi so obravnavani japonski leseni spoji. Opisane so značilnosti japonskih lesenih spojev in njihov razvoj skozi zgodovino. Zgodovinsko so predstavljeni tudi različni stili gradnje in del japonske arhitekture. V nalogi so obravnavani japonski tesarji in njihova filozofija poklica, ki so imeli vlogo arhitektov in gradbenikov. Predstavljene so tri glavne vrste lesa in tesarsko orodje, ki se je uporabljalo pri izdelavi spojev. Poudarek je na opisu najbolj pogostih in prepoznavnih japonskih spojev. Podrobneje sta opisana dva izbrana spoja, na katerih sta izvedena tudi preizkusa. V eksperimentalnem delu naloge je predstavljen postopek oblikovanja in tiskanja modelov japonskih spojev s 3D tiskalnikom. Sledi meritev trdnosti natisnjenih spojev ter primerjava rezultatov z modeli monolitov enakih oblik. V sklepu diplomske naloge so zapisane ugotovitve preizkusov in predlagane možnosti izboljšav modelov spojev.

Secondary title: Japanese timber joints modelled by 3D print
Secondary abstract: In the thesis, Japanese wooden joints are examined. The characteristics of Japanese wooden joints and their historical evolution are described. Different architectural styles and aspects of Japanese architecture are also presented in a historical context. The thesis discusses Japanese carpenters and their professional philosophy, who played the roles of architects and builders. It introduces three main types of wood and carpentry tools used in joint construction. The emphasis is on describing the most common and recognizable Japanese joints. Two selected joints are described in more detail, and experiments are conducted on them. In the experimental part of the thesis, the process of designing and printing models of Japanese joints using a 3D printer is presented. This is followed by the experimental determination of strength of the printed joints and a comparison of the results with models of monoliths of the same shape. The conclusion of the thesis contains the findings of the experiments and proposed possibilities for improving joint models.
