Abstract

Sram in strah sta najpogostejši posledici. S poglobljeno analizo in empiričnimi študijami smo skušali osvetliti raznolikost in obseg tega problema.

Secondary title: Sexual harassment on student campuses in Slovenia
Secondary abstract: The purpose of the master's thesis was to investigate sexual harassment on student campuses, focusing on the occurrence, understanding and consequences among students. In the theoretical part, we used the descriptive method to shed light on the origins of the phenomenon of sexual harassment, different definitions by authors, prevalence and reports, and legal protection. We also looked in depth at organizations working to prevent these phenomena and touched on the negative consequences of sexual harassment. In the empirical part, we used an online survey to investigate the incidence of sexual harassment among students on student campuses. We noticed that women are faster to interpret certain actions as sexual harassment compared to men. Sexual harassment occurs more often among female students. Most students identify male strangers, often under the influence of alcohol, as the perpetrators. Shame and fear are the most common consequences. The survey also revealed that half of students are unaware of sexual harassment legislation, while they believe that campuses and colleges are doing too little to prevent it. Students show limited knowledge of sexual harassment prevention organisations and movements, highlighting the need for improved awareness. The research approached this urgent issue with the aim of understanding the deeper causes, consequences and forms of sexual harassment. Through in-depth analysis and empirical studies, we sought to shed light on the diversity and scope of the problem. The thesis contributes to the literature and debates on sexual harassment and offers insights that can serve as a foundation for developing more effective strategies to prevent and address this socially relevant topic.
