Abstract

Delo medicinskih sester je na splošno zelo odgovorno in stresno, vendar je ena veja dela v zdravstveni negi še posebej težka. To je delo na forenzični psihiatriji. Na forenzični psihiatriji se zdravijo pacienti, ki so v preteklosti storili kaznivo dejanje, vendar namesto da gredo v zapor, potrebujejo psihiatrično zdravljenje. Obremenitve medicinskih sester na teh oddelkih so velike, saj so v nenehnem strahu in pod pritiskom, da bi pacienti oziroma kaznjenci storili kaj nasilnega. : Ugotovili smo, da na čustvene obremenitve oziroma stres medicinskih sester vpliva več dejavnikov, to so agresivni pacienti, druge medicinske sestre, preobremenjenost in spopadanje z lastnimi čustvi.

Secondary abstract: Nurses' work is generally a very responsible and stressful job, but there is one branch of it that is particularly difficult. This is the work of forensic psychiatry. Forensic psychiatry treats patients who have committed a crime in the past, but instead of going to prison, they come to psychiatry for treatment. Emotional stran of nurses in these department is big, because they are under a great deal of pressure and constant fear that patients or inmates will do something violent. We found that nurses' emotional strain or stress is influenced by several factors, including aggressive patients, other nurses, work overload and coping with their own emotions.
