Abstract

Smo v času, ko uporabniki zahtevamo vedno večjo hitrost prenosa, neprekinjen dostop do omrežja in povezljivost velikega števila naprav. Diplomska naloga predstavi nove standarde, ki definirajo nove tehnologije in funkcije, ki razširijo in nadgradijo trenutne storitve. V mobilna komunikacijska omrežja prinesejo številne nove zmogljivosti in primere uporabe. Za radijsko omrežje to vključuje izboljšave frekvenčnega spektra in MIMO anten. Jedro postane bolj učinkovito z virtualizacijo in premikom omrežnih funkcij v oblak. Omrežno rezinjenje omogoči izolirana omrežja, ki si učinkovito porazdelijo omrežne zmogljivosti. Na koncu se naloga osredotoči še na vpliv novih tehnologij na spremembo naše okolice in vsakdanjega življenja.

Secondary title: Overview of new 5G releases
Secondary abstract: We are at a time when users are demanding ever-increasing download speeds, uninterrupted network access, and connectivity for a large number of devices. This thesis provides an overview of new standards that define technologies and features that extend and upgrade current services, bringing numerous new capabilities and use cases to mobile communication networks. For the radio access network, this includes enhancements of the frequency spectrum and MIMO antennas. The core network becomes more efficient by using virtualization and moving network functions to the cloud. Network slicing enables the creation of isolated networks that efficiently distribute the network’s capacity among themselves. Finally, the work focuses on how new technologies will affect and change our environment and everyday life.
