Abstract

Strategije oskrbovanja delimo na strategijo hranjenja materiala ob montažni liniji v transportno-skladiščnih enotah, strategijo dostavljanja materiala v zahtevanem zaporedju ob montažni liniji, strategijo dostavljanja materiala ob montažno linijo v manjših zabojih in količinah, prilagojenih porabi v definiranem časovnem oknu, in dve različni strategiji kompletiranja.

Secondary title: Complete renovation of the assembly cell feeding
Secondary abstract: Manufacturing companies nowadays face the challenge of having to produce increasing amounts of diverse products. The high level of product individualization and complexity poses a significant challenge to internal logistics management, especially to the assembly cell feeding process. In the feeding process, it is essential to ensure the delivery of the right components, in the right quantity and quality, at the right time, and to the right location. Due to these factors, the key is the selection of the most appropriate feeding strategy. Feeding strategies are classified into line-stocking, sequencing, boxed supply, stationary kitting and travelling kitting strategies. In addition to these, the use of supermarkets and KANBAN cards is often practiced in the feeding process. Due to differences in component properties, a hybrid feeding strategy is also introduced, combining the rules of two or more strategies. Strategies differ in usage, transport method, preparation, and the inventory replenishment method. The practice of lean principles in the company has a significant impact on the selection and improvement of feeding strategies. Companies introduce lean practices to eliminate losses and continuously improve processes. In the hybrid strategy, the selection of a strategy combination depends on the characteristics of each component. In the master's thesis, we focused on the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) method and the Axiomatic Design method, later applying them to the comprehensive renovation of the assembly cell feeding process in a selected company. We proposed the use of the strategy selection method and suggested a new assembly cell feeding process, with an emphasis on the introduction of a digital information system to support the feeding process and reduce errors. Addressing a specific practical case helped us gain insight into the feeding of an assembly cell and tackle the challenges of finding opportunities for improvement and implementing changes. After completing the work on the selected case, we summarized the acquired experiences and generalized the findings in a way that will be useful for other companies with assembly cells.
