Abstract

Namen diplomske naloge je bil preučiti vpliv obdelave lesa z železovimi ioni po enem letu izpostavitve na prostem. Preučili smo vpliv dejavnikov na spremembo barve lesa, izpostavljenega na prostem ter vpliv obdelave z železovim(II) sulfatom na staranje lesa. V nalogi smo eno leto spremljali barvne spremembe na vzorcih lesa, izpostavljenih na prostem v Ljubljani in na Norveškem (Ås). Prav tako smo vzorcem določili kontaktni kot vode na površini lesa, da smo ovrednotili hidrofobnost materialov, uporabljenih v preizkusu. Ugotovili smo, da les obdelan z železovim(II) sulfatom v prvih tednih izpostavitve zelo potemni, do konca izpostavitve pa se barva ni opazno spreminjala. Obdelava lesa z železovim(II) sulfatom ne vpliva na hidrofobne laštnosti.

Secondary title: Properties of wood treated with iron sulphate after one year of outdoor exposure
Secondary abstract: The thesis aimed to examine the impact of wood treatment with iron ions after one year of outdoor exposure. We studied the influence of various factors on the change in colour of wood exposed outdoors for one year in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Ås (Norway) and how wood ageing is affected by treatment with iron sulphate. We also determined the contact angle of water on the surfaces of the wood samples to evaluate the hydrophobicity of the materials used in the experiment. According to the findings, wood treated with iron sulphate darkens significantly in the first weeks of exposure but does not undergo noticeable colour changes until the end of the exposure period. Treatment with iron sulphate does not affect the hydrophobic properties of wood.
