Abstract

Njihove odgovore sem analizirala in predstavila izsledke raziskave.

Secondary title: De-tabooing the sexual motif in children's problem picture books
Secondary abstract: The issue of sexuality in society is still a taboo topic in the 21st century. Despite improving a little, many people still experience shame and discomfort when it comes to sexuality. I think that breaking taboos is important, so I already focused on the issue of sexuality in my dissertation. In my dissertation, I dealt more with concealed sexuality in selected picture books, while in my master's thesis I will focus more on sexual abuse in Slovenia. I will examine various literature where we can detect sexual abuse, such as incest between father and daughter. I will start with the Bible and continue chronologically with stories and picture books until 2020 that I claim are controversial for children. I will touch on a short story from the children's magazine Kekec entitled Lepi striček, which talks about how a girl is a victim of abuse by her mother's friend. I will also talk here about parents teaching their children from the beginning to tell them “Secrets". I will mention the story of an elderly lady from the Vida project who talks about how he “atek” made her a wife. With the Vida project, the Humanitarček Association is raising the awareness of the Slovenian public about the urgently needed systemic changes. In the empirical part, I will do an interview with Mirjam Kline, where we will talk about the Rules on the treatment of domestic violence for educational institutions, I will present her work and examples that have stuck in her memory the most. I will also make a survey questionnaire and distribute it to kindergartens in Slovenia. I will analyse their answers and present the findings I have reached. I think this topic is close to me because I have heard many times that sexuality is not talked about, that it is something that needs to remain hidden and, above all, that I as a woman need to be quiet about it because it is not my thing. What struck me the most, however, was when I read various books that talked about how children were victims of sexual abuse and were not heard from, they even accused them of being to blame. However, how will children distinguish between allowed and forbidden touches and get to know sexuality if adults hide it from them. Such acts lead to sexual abuse because children do not know what is happening to them and adults threaten them not to talk about it. The worst thing is that statistics show that around 100,000 children are abused in Slovenia.
