Abstract
Metode: Izvedli smo pregled znanstvene literature v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate, Cochrane Library, Web of Science in ScienceDirectu. Postopek pregleda literature smo prikazali s pomočjo diagrama PRISMA. Analizo relevantnih raziskav smo prikazali v evalvacijski tabeli. Raziskave, vključene v končno analizo, smo razvrstili v hierarhijo dokazov in jih ocenili s pomočjo ocenjevalnega orodja JBI.
Razprava in zaključek: Nosečnice predstavljajo populacijo z visokim tveganjem, zato njihova obravnava potrebujejo posebno pozornost.

Covid-19 and the risk of pregnancy complications |
Secondary abstract: |
Introduction: The risk of complications due to infection with COVID-19 is greater during pregnancy and the disease affects pregnant women more than the general population, so the aim was to investigate possible complications that occur during pregnancy in pregnant women with COVID-19 infection.
Methods: We performed a review of the scientific literature in the PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate, Cochrane Library, Web of Science and ScienceDirect databases. The literature review process was illustrated using the PRISMA diagram. The analysis of relevant research was presented in the evaluation table. The studies included, in the final analysis, were classified into a hierarchy of evidence and assessed using the JBI assessment tool. The synthesis was presented descriptively.
Results: According to the hierarchy of evidence, we classified 22 studies as level 5 and 3 studies as level 4. Of the 25 included studies, 4 studies (16%) reported that infection during pregnancy does not pose a high risk of disease severity and is not associated with adverse outcomes and complications. Other included studies (84%) reported complications in pregnant women infected with SARS-CoV-2, such as preterm birth, preeclampsia, and caesarean section. Based on the JBI evaluation tool, we assessed all identified research as relevant.
Discussion and conclusion: Pregnant women represent a high-risk population, so their treatment needs special attention. Covid-19 during pregnancy increases the risk of complications for the mother. The long-term consequences are unknown, but data suggest that pregnant women infected with SARS-CoV-2 pose a public health burden, with important implications for clinical practice. The findings should alert pregnant women, their families and healthcare providers to take all recommended preventive measures against COVID-19. |
