Abstract

Algoritem CORDIC je enostaven in učinkovit algoritem za izračun vrednosti elementarnih funkcij le z uporabo bitnih premikov in seštevanja. V diplomskem delu spoznamo podrobno delovanje algoritma in dokažemo pravilnost matematičnega ozadja. Analiziramo njegovo konvergenco in preverimo natančnost rezultatov. V zaključku se posvetimo posplošeni verziji algoritma, ki omogoča izračun kompleksnejših funkcij in si na primerih ogledamo njegovo delovanje.

Secondary abstract: The CORDIC algorithm is a simple and efficient algorithm for computing elementary functions by using only bitwise shifts and additions. In this diploma thesis, we give a detailed presentation of algorithm’s performance and prove the correctness of its mathematical background. We analyze its convergence and verify the accuracy of results. Finally, we focus on the generalized version of the algorithm, which enables the computation of more complex functions, and present its performance in several examples.
