Abstract
Izhodišča: Vloga svojcev v paliativni zdravstveni negi je pomembna in odgovorna. Namen naše raziskave je bil ugotoviti in analizirati aktivno vlogo svojca v paliativni oskrbi bližnjega.
Metode: Uporabili smo kvantitativno metodo raziskovanja in deskriptivno metodo dela. Anketni vprašalnik je vseboval 14 vprašanj zaprtega tipa. Raziskovalni vzorec je zajemal 100 svojcev z izkušnjo paliativne oskrbe. Podatke smo statistično obdelali s programom Microsoft Excel in dobljene rezultate grafično prikazali.

THE ACTIVE ROLE OF RELATIVES IN PALLIATIVE CARE |
Secondary abstract: |
Departures: The role of relatives in palliative care is crucial and requires a lot of responsibility. Although great progress has been made in palliative care, there are still difficulties in establishing effective care coordination. We therefore decided to explore how relatives perceive their active role in the palliative care process. The aim of our study was to identify and analyze the active role of the relative involved in the palliative care of a loved one.
Methods: We used a quantitative research method and a descriptive method. The questionnaire consisted of 14 closed-ended questions. The survey sample consisted of 100 relatives who had experienced an active role in the palliative care process. The data were statistically processed using Microsoft Excel and the results were presented graphically.
Results: Our survey showed that a large proportion of relatives are still partially informed about palliative care (47%). However, the majority of relatives know what palliative care means and have been involved or partially involved in the palliative care process (88%). However, relatives' activity was lower, with just over half being active (56%), while a small proportion were partially active (14%). We found that relatives have high expectations of palliative care and communication with health professionals is very important to them. However, relatives are more satisfied with communication than dissatisfied. Involvement in the palliative care process itself was very important to relatives, but some were not able to make up their minds about this. Around one fifth of relatives (21%) made comments or suggestions to improve information about palliative care.
Discussion: We found that relatives are divided about information, as they lack a lot of general information about palliative care. A large proportion of relatives express different opinions and views on palliative care, and expectations are quite high. The majority of relatives are positive about playing an active role in the palliative care process. However, relatives' views on communication with health professionals do not meet their needs. |
