Abstract

Zlom gležnja je komplicirana poškodba, ki športnika dalj časa zadrži izven tekmovalnega ritma, zato je pomembno, da je rehabilitacija ustrezno izvedena, saj je lahko ponoven zlom ali zvin gležnja usoden za športnikovo kariero. Med pregledom literature smo se osredotočili na izbiranje literature, ki temelji na podlagi narejenih raziskav na temo rehabilitacije. Literaturo smo iskali v iskalnih pogonih, kot so Goolgle Scholar, PEDro in PubMed, kjer smo izločili literaturo, starejšo od leta 2005. Med pregledom smo ugotovili, da je pri rehabilitaciji pomemben člen trening propriocepcije, ki je ključen za čimprejšnjo povrnitev stabilnosti gležnja. Prav tako je pomembno izvajanje vaj za krepitev mišic, ki med poškodbo atrofirajo in izgubijo moč. Kot zadnje smo ugotovili, da je primernejša krajša doba imobilizacije, kar pomeni, da je treba gleženj čim prej začeti gibati, da pridobimo poln obseg giba.

Secondary title: Rehabilitation of an athlete after an ankle fracture
Secondary abstract: Ankle fracture is a complicated injury keeping an athlete out of competitive rhythm for a longer period of time. Therefore, it is essential for rehabilitation to be properly performed, since a recurrent fracture or ankle sprain can be fatal to an athlete's career. Conducting a literature review, the focus was on the literature based on research in the field of rehabilitation. We searched for literature in search engines such as Google Scholar, PEDro, and PubMed, excluding literature published before 2005. According to the review, a crucial aspect of rehabilitation is a proprioception training, which is essential to early restoration of ankle stability. It is also important to perform physical exercises to strengthen the muscles which atrophy and lose strength during the injury. Finally, we found out that a shorter period of immobilization is more appropriate, meaning that the injured ankle should be moved as soon as possible to regain full range of motion.
