diplomsko delo visokošolskega študijskega programa Informacijska varnost
Abstract
V diplomskem delu smo raziskovali tehnološki razvoj slovenske policije do leta 2007.

Technological development of Slovenian police forces |
Secondary abstract: |
In the thesis we investigated the technological development of the Slovenian police up to 2007. In the thesis we can see that information technology and the telecommunication system of the police have made remarkable progress in the last 50 years. In the introduction, the police are first described, the first correct strategic decision is the choice of IBM - the information technology giant, followed by a description of the basic concepts that are key to the thesis. Then, in the broadest or core part, it is described how the telecommunication system itself, as well as crypto-protection, has evolved practically from the beginning by writing on paper or later on simple computer programs to more sophisticated and complex programs later on, thus enabling a faster response and a more secure way of policing the whole territory of Slovenia. The description of the Office of Informatics and Telecommunications can also be found in the work, as well as the information centres that are scattered throughout Slovenia. Cooperation with foreign institutions and journalism is important for the advancement of information technology, as the dissemination of good practices helps them to catch on more quickly, and the results are therefore better and faster. Finally, there is a graph on IT investment, which simply tells us that if we want to advance in technology, investing in IT is the future. As the last thing in the thesis, the two research question put forward before the beginning of the writing are confirmed, that crypto protection is very important to start the development of data protection and that IT plays a very important role in the automation of police procedures, as cops can get to data faster and easier than they could not so many years ago. We believe that developments in the field of information technology must continue and be upgraded in the coming years, as we see many attempts every day to hack into modern technology in various ways. |
