Secondary title: | [Using Google services in small business] |
Secondary abstract: | Escalating connectedness of business processes to the World Wide Web is one of fundamental changes in the way business is conducted in contemporary companies. The newest and the most extreme example of this trend is the migration of entire business IT support from classic desktop software to collections of web applications specialized in business use. The leader among the providers of such collections is Google, a company which in the past decade revolutionized the way we search on the World Wide Web. Today, with enormous profits gained from web advertising, Google is able to fund one of the fastest and most comprehensive offensives in the history of software development with a great emphasis on web applications. Google’s services have been a focal point of my work in the past three years and are also a focal point of this diploma thesis. In it, I will introduce key advantages and disadvantages of each product, based on the experience gained by implementing Google’s services in small businesses in Slovenia. These findings will be the foundations for more general conclusions about the readiness of an individual product to support a certain business process. |
