| Secondary abstract: | We have researched existing theoretical solutions in the field of scalable overlay network routing, based on structured topologies and peer-to-peer communications. We have then used this research and knowledge to design and implement a communications framework in the form of a C++ library which enables simple developer-friendly message-based communication between applications. This framework, called UNISPHERE, eases the development of distributed applications, since it handles all the low-level details that are key for a secure and scalable architecture, by itself. This enables the developer to focus herself on application logic instead of wasting time with communications details. |
