Secondary title: Computer-assisted standalone photovoltaic system
Secondary abstract: Efficient generation of electricity from solar power is enabled by photovoltaic systems, which are an important factor for the sustainable development of the Slovenian as well as of the world economy. Since experts predict that solar energy will be available for the next 5 billion years, we can safely assume that the conversion of solar energy to electricity will become a more and more important source of electricity generation. A goal of this thesis is to show the applicability of the standalone photovoltaic system for ordinary households. A purpose of the thesis is to highlight the reduction in consumption of electricity produced from fossil fuels and to acquaint readers with the simplicity and economy of photovoltaic systems. The thesis is devoted to a presentation of design, development and use of a sampled computer-assisted independent photovoltaic system. The first part of the thesis describes different types of photovoltaic systems (standalone and network) and what a construction kit for a photovoltaic standalone system looks like. The second part describes an upgrade to automate a standalone photovoltaic system and shows its applicability in the real world, and the third part shows development of a web page that allows a user friendly presentation of real-time on electricity generated by the standalone photovoltaic system. The final part of the thesis highlights efficiency and some of the problems that emerged while designing, building and using the sampled system.
