magistrsko delo
Abstract
Cilj magistrske naloge je bil analizirati suhe popolne krmne mešanice za odrasle pse srednje velikosti. Krmne mešanice smo izbrali glede na cenovni razred. Izbrali smo tri nizko cenovne, tri srednje cenovne in tri višje cenovne krmne mešanice ter dodano popolno krmno mešanico, pri kateri so bile ribe glavni vir beljakovin in maščob. Vse krmne mešanice smo kupili in analizirali v treh neodvisnih vzorcih. Sestavo izbranih krmnih mešanic smo analizirali po weendski analizi, določili smo vsebnost mineralov, maščobnih kislin (MK) in vitamina E. Dobljene rezultate smo primerjani z označbo posamezne krmne mešanice. Stopnjo oksidacije maščob smo spremljali v različnih časovnih intervalih z merjenjem primarnih produktov oksidacije (lipidni peroksidi) in sekundarnega produkta oksidacije, malondialdehida. Vse krmne mešanice so vsebovale zakonsko zahtevane podatke na označbi. Razen vsebnosti EPA+DHA v treh krmnih mešanicah, so ostale krmne mešanice ustrezale priporočilom NRC.

Composition and oxidative stability of dog food |
Secondary abstract: |
The aim of the M. Sc. Thesis was to analyse several dry foods for adult medium-sized dogs. The dog foods were selected according to price range. We selected three low-price, three medium-price and three high-price foods as well as an additional complete food in which fish is the source of protein and fat. All foods were purchased and analysed in independent triplicates. The composition of the selected foods was analysed based on the proximate analysis, additionally mineral content, fatty acids (FA) composition and vitamin E were determined. The obtained results were compared with the declared values. The degree of fat oxidation was monitored at different time intervals by measuring the primary oxidation products (lipid peroxides) and the secondary oxidation product, malondialdehyde. All foods had the legally required information on the declaration. With the exception of the EPA+DHA content in three foods, all other nutrient levels met the NRC recommendations. The measurements showed that two foods did not meet the FEDIAF and AAFCO recommendations for K. The n-3 PUFA and Mn contents varied depending on the price category of the food. None of the foods showed signs of oxidation after opening and during the measurement period (27 weeks). |
