Abstract

Kvalitativno praškovno analizo na osnovi posnetih praškovnih difraktogramov, sem izvedla s programom Crystallographica Search-Match (CSM) in podatkovne zbirke praškovnih difraktogramov standardov PDF-2.

Secondary title: Qualitative phase analysis of granules of instant vitamin drinks by means of X-ray powder diffraction
Secondary abstract: Vitamins are organic compounds that our body needs in small quantities for normal functioning. If we do not consume enough of them through a varied diet, we resort to vitamin supplements and drinks. Many people use these, so I decided to examine their phase composition. I analyzed this using X-ray powder diffraction, where samples are irradiated with X-ray light of a specific wavelength. Each sample contained crystalline substances, as this is a prerequisite for the analysis. The method is based on the periodically ordered structure of crystals. I performed a qualitative powder analysis based on the recorded powder diffractograms using the Crystallographica Search-Match (CSM) program and the PDF-2 powder diffraction standards database. I analyzed 15 samples of different granules for the preparation of vitamin drinks. I found that the samples are similar, as all but one contain sucrose, but they also differ from each other. In addition to sucrose, I was able to identify the presence of various sugars in most samples.
