| Secondary title: | Creep and relaxation at elevated temperature |
| Secondary abstract: | When developing mechanically and thermally stressed machine elements, it is crucial to predict how the material will react to such stresses. The first part reviews the literature on creep and relaxation and stress-strain modelling. The aim of the thesis is to write a Python program, based on the equations in the literature, that will calculate both the visco-plastic and elasto-plastic response of the material to mechanical and temperature loading. The program will allow the material response to be calculated at different temperatures for both stress and strain control. The results of the model will be evaluated and possible improvements will be suggested. |
